Padawan Raft Safari 2016

Competition Date: August 14, 2016

River Safari in Padawan is a bamboo rafting competition held annually. It involves a journey down the river, which will take roughly three and a half hours. You will pass by some of the most amazing and scenic nature sightings. Another interesting thing is the rapids which make the Safari both challenging and fun.

COMPETITION DETAILS

Participants will be flagged-off from 7:00 a.m to 9:00 a.m. According to categories, starting from 3 different villages namely; Annah Rais village, Temurang village and Danu village. Everyone will finish at Git village where the closing ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. The approximated distance for the Rafting Expert and Kayaking Category is 40 km, Men’s Open Rafting is 26 km while the Women, Government Departments, and Hotels & Tour Agencies Rafting will all be 22 km.  Full list of the categories is as below:

The event has been held since 2004 and year after year, many participants return to have another go. The river has dense forests lining up both sides of its banks and the marvelous outcrop of rocks at various stretches of the river. Imagine yourself cruising down the crystal clear river, surrounded by beautiful nature, all while battling the currents on a bamboo raft with your family and friends. That’s what the Raft Safari is all about. Grab a chance to get close to nature, to challenge yourselves to new limits, a chance to win some attractive prizes, but more importantly, to have lots of fun!
